Class Descriptions
Ballet
A classical class which includes barre, center floor and across the floor exercises, emphasis on technique and grace.

Chakra Meditation
Come and experience healing. Energy centers affect our emotional and physical well-being. Improve awareness, focus and energy.

Creative Movement/Pre-Ballet
Explorations of movement through space, rhythms and songs. Enhances coordination and imagination. An introduction to basic ballet.

Flamenco
Students will learn footwork, arm and hand motions, as well as the sevillanas (typical dance of Seville). Students are required to wear an ankle length skirt (preferably black or red) with flamenco or character shoes. No experience is necessary to take the class.

Fundamentals of Dance
Basic tap, jazz, ballet and tumbling movements.

Gyrokinesis ®
Gyrokinesis® classes allow one to work on the entire body through seven natural elements of spinal movement. This approach systematically and gently works the joints and muscles through rhythmic and undulating movements. These movements stimulate the body's internal organs while different corresponding breathing patterns are integrated along with the movements.

Hip-Hop
Hip-hop is an expression of individuality that sends you in a direction without boundaries. It allows you to experiment with music and movement adding your own style with a twist of urban.

Low Impact Aerobics
Aerobics routines given to improve cardiovascular fitness. Work with light weights and Toning exercises are included in the class. This is a total fitness program.

Pilates
A system of detailed exercises that utilize mind and body to strengthen "core muscles." This results in stronger, longer and more balanced muscles throughout the body. This course is taught by a certified instructor in Pilates.

Salsa/ Latin Dance
In this class, students will learn and focus on salsa with attention given to other Latin dances such as the cha-cha and the merengue. No experience is necessary to take the class. Dance sneakers or workout sneakers are required (heels are an option).

Stretch & Tone
All exercise is done to music. This class is designed to work all muscle groups. Resistance work with dynabands and weights included.

Tap
A rhythmic dance form that improves coordination. Technique, traditional step and routines are given.

Tumbling & Gymnastics
Includes floor exercise, balance beam, parallel bars and mini trampoline.

Yoga
Learn and practice the basic elements of yoga. Breathing, stretching and strengthening. Emphasis on stress relief and enjoyment.




Recital & Observation Class Information

Observation classes will be given the last week of 1st semester during class time. A final recital will be given Sunday, June 10th. Participation in the recital is strictly voluntary. The recital fees are approximately $165-$170 and include a costume, 4 tickets, and rehearsal fees.
